COVID FINANCIAL RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE
With our Head Office in Tauranga, TLC Insurance continues to work under Level 2 conditions, however we know that many of our brokers and clients are impacted by the tighter levels in force in Auckland and Waikato.
It's for that reason that we want to remind you of our Covid Financial Relief and Assistance initiative that we put in place in April last year, and we have maintained ever since.
What this means is that if your clients have machines that are parked up for an extended period of time (minimum 30 day period), TLC Insurance provides an option called the LAID UP Mobile Plant policy extension, offering a meaningful reduction in premium for clients.
BACK TO WORK REMINDER
With all of the lockdown requirements now starting to shift, it’s a good time to remind clients who might be going back to work after an extensive period of low to no activity, to check for birds’ nests or other debris in their machines. These are a common cause of fire and often they can be easily spotted with a quick check of the machine before it’s turned on.
Clients might also be reminded to look for signs of any malicious damage while their machines have been out of operation. If they spot anything untoward, then we encourage them to immediately report any loss to you (the broker) so we can get the claims process underway.
Also a reminder for those clients who have had their machines on laid up cover option B and who are now going back to work, it is imperative that you (or they) contact us before the machines are put back into operation so that their full cover can be reinstated.
SAM CANE TO PLAY FOR TLC INSURANCE KING COUNTRY RAMS
Many of you will recall that we are the primary sponsor of the King Country Rams for this year’s Bunnings Warehouse Heartland Championship. So we were delighted to see this tweet come through earlier this week, announcing that Sam Cane will make his rugby return playing for ‘our team’ in Taupo on Saturday (versus Whanganui).

"It’s been a long 6 months but the body is ready to play some rugby again. Really looking forward to linking up with the mighty King Country Rams this weekend in the Heartland Championship." ~ Sam Cane.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm at Owen Delany Park, and general admission has now been permitted by the New Zealand Rugby Union. If you are in the area, get along for some action packed grass roots rugby!
TLC INSURANCE JOINS NZ UNDERWRITING AGENCIES COUNCIL (NZUAC)
And in other news this week, TLC Insurance is pleased to be joining New Zealand Underwriting Agencies Council as a foundation member.
The Council has been established to provide a professional and united front to represent the interests of New Zealand’s 40+ underwriting agencies, along with the wider insurance industry. Although the Council is still in its start-up phase and there remains more work to be done to formalise how we will operate going forward, it is exciting to know that we will be part of a united voice to lobby on important matters that impact underwriters nationwide.
NZUAC will provide a platform for all underwriting agency members to be able to promote their agency to the New Zealand broker market.
To keep up to date with developments on this initiative and on what is happening at TLC Insurance generally, you can follow us on LinkedIn.
Meantime, go the TLC Insurance King Country Rams this weekend!
Kind Regards
